Introduction: The incidence of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) is increasing worldwide. Daily administration multi-dose or single-dose Insulin therapy the cornerstone in treatment T1DM. recent studies highlighted gap knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) towards insulin for optimal control hyperglycemia study aimed to assess attitudes, practices regarding among T1DM patients attending diabetic clinic, Teaching Hospital Karapitiya (THK).Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive was conducted using an interviewer-administered questionnaire elicit socio-demographic information KAP therapy. total 62 clinic at THK were recruited.Results: population consisted 91.9% early young adults (ages 18-25 years) while remainder represented late 26 - 30 years). good attitude seen 61.3%, 62.9% 38.1% respectively. Age, level education, duration DM, regular visits favourable attitudes associated with knowledge whereas attitudes. Duration DM only factors practices.
